I spent 4 months working in Sundsvall, Sweden, and had an amazing experience! Time has just flown by. When you work and live in a different country for a few months, you get enough time to really get to know the country, the people, their habits and in general their way of life. Although I worked full time, I had plenty of time off to go and explore. The Swedish nature is something I had never seen before. The people, both the locals and other locum staff, are so friendly and made me feel welcome and part of a team. I would recommend it to everyone. It broadens your horizons and it will truly be an experience to never forget.

I just finished my second stay at a clinic in Sweden and just the fact that I returned for another 3 months after having spent 5 months there in winter already, should tell enough about how great it was. Everyone made me feel very welcome from the beginning and the support from the clinic and all the staff was great. The clinic organised a tiny house on the countryside, just outside of the city for me to live in, which was super cosy and also perfect for walking my dog before or after work. Nordic Locum helped me with all the paper work and checked in regularly to see if everything was working out well. Sweden in Summer was absolutely fantastic. There are many lakes around for swimming or stand up paddling and a national park for hiking is never far away. And last but not least I saw elks several times through my kitchen window!

Working in Sweden was changing my way of seeing the profession as a vet, I could learn and take my time to deepen my knowledge in the fields of interests. The colleagues were respectful and kind and although the work was hard the worker is always a priority. The working experience was really an enrichment as a vet and the personal growing is irreplaceable. I can only recommend to take that step out of your comfort zone and be alone for a while and then to give your heart to the Swedish people and the forest. Maybe after this experience your heart will be more wandering but definitely you will know what you want from your profession. Forever grateful.
